Vikram Sarabhai space centre in the Post-Sarabhai era

Abstract: This article discusses the status and functions of the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS), the first and foremost ISRO research centre, after the sudden demise of its founder, the great visionary and the father of India’s space research program Vikram Sarabhai and the birth of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) in fond memory of him. This paper also tries to study numerous changes took place in the VSSC after taken over by Sathish Dhawan as ISRO Chairman, and attempts to elucidate India’s first success of SLV project and the men behind it.
