Abstract: The nineteenth century saw the emergence of the conscientiousness for Dalit education and upliftment, which continues now. The concept began when missionaries arrived to assist the East India Company. For the first time in our country, missionaries altered the established educational structure, and all castes were welcomed to enrol. The missionaries who worked extensively in the field of modern education in India were primarily motivated by a spirit of evangelizing, with a particular focus on Dalit society and the goal of converting the Indian populace to Christianity. The old Indian educational system is closely aligned with Hindu doctrine, which is incompatible with missionaries' promotion of an inclusive education for all.
