Author(s): Neeraj Kumar and Narayan Singh Rao

Abstract: The regional manuscript culture of India is a treasure trove of diverse knowledge, reflecting the linguistic, cultural, and historical richness of different regions across the subcontinent. Each region has its unique script, style, and content, contributing to the overall tapestry of India's manuscript heritage. In Himachal Pradesh, we found Sānchā manuscripts which hold immense cultural significance. These manuscripts cover a wide range of subjects, including classical literature, philosophy, medicine, History, astrology, tantric knowledge, health and agriculture. The manuscripts are written in six scripts, namely Pabuchi, Bhatakshri, Pandvani, Chandvani, sirmauri and bogoi. In sirmaur the scripts of Sānchā manuscripts are 'Bhatakshri' 'Pabuchi' and sirmauri. But in Shimla the scripts are pandvani and chandvani. In this article we will discuss in details about Sānchā Manuscript.
